Methodology
Every order starts with an intake check: plans, window schedule, address, county and the expected permit application date. That date decides the code edition, because under Florida law the edition in effect when you apply governs the permit.
Energy compliance is prepared by the method your project uses: Form R405 (performance) or R402 (prescriptive). Loads are calculated room by room with ACCA Manual J, equipment is selected against those loads with Manual S, and ducts are sized with Manual D. Outdoor design conditions are held to the county design-temperature limits; we don’t pad them.
Before delivery, the package is checked against the sizing limits the code sets for cooling equipment, so an inspector comparing the nameplate to the calc finds them consistent. Plan-review comments on the same design are revised free.
What we calculate from
- Florida Building Code, Energy Conservation, the edition that applies to your permit date (8th Edition (2023) now; 9th Edition (2026) scheduled for Dec 31, 2026).
- ACCA Manual J, S and D, the methods the energy code names for sizing and duct design.
- County design-temperature limits (RESNET / ENERGY STAR Appendix A, drawn from ASHRAE and Manual J design data).
- Your county’s submittal checklist; see the county requirement pages.
What we don’t claim
Building departments decide what they accept, so we don’t promise approval. We don’t publish review counts, client logos or delivery totals. When we have real reviews, we’ll show them; until then there are none on this site.
